Wrapped in Silk by HeatherCosplay
Wrapped in Silk
I decided to be a shiny version of Silcoon, hence the blue eye. The fabric is actually cream and my wig is light blonde, though both came out looking more white in some of the photos. I thought it would be fun to wear EXTREME eyelashes with this costume. They were uncomfortable to have on, but I love the effect!

Uber-thanks to James McCollum for the photoshoot!

Sneaky Tanuki by HeatherCosplay
Sneaky Tanuki
I wore my new Tanuki costume at our local Halloween parade! (Most people thought I was a raccoon, and I just didn't correct them.)

For those who don't know, a tanuki is an animal that looks like a cross between a raccoon and a dog. They are popular characters in asian folklore, and are known for being shapeshifters and tricksters (similar to kitsune).

So I typically don't enter contests, but I'm REALLY excited about this one and would be incredibly grateful if you lovely people would give me a vote. Please!!! If I win then I get a free wig and an Arda gift certificate *_*.

The first con that I attended was AWA '96. I cosplayed as 'Devil Hunter Yohko' and had a wonderful time! By '98 I was competing in masquerades at Master level, & was extremely fortunate to work as a booth model for several companies. In 2000 the CEO of SyCoNet Productions asked me to be the company's spokesmodel, which was AWESOME!!! I met Jason (my husband) at DragonCon '00. He had been working in the American Comics field for several years, and encouraged me to pursue a career as a colorist. I took time-off from cosplay to concentrate on my career and family life, but still attended conventions regularly as an artist. Years passed, and I thought that I was done with cosplay. Then an old friend asked me to break out some of my costumes for NDK '07. I agreed, and before I knew it, I was hooked again!

Currently I live in CO with my husband Jason, and our son Jathen. At conventions, you can usually find me at the ARTPLAYMIX.COM booth selling art prints and other goodies.
